SHOW GOES ON AT ROCKLAHOMA
PRYOR, OK: The communities of rural Oklahoma and that from the Rock World banded together to work long hours into the night to insure that “The Show Must Go On” at Rocklahoma on Saturday, July 12, 2008.
After a 2-½ hour rain delay and two side stages collapsing, the Emergency Management Team of Catch the Fever Music Festivals led by General Manager Dave Giencke went into full gear as they helped the thousands of rock fans to their safety. After everyone was found to be safe, crews went to work to insure the main stage artists would be able to continue to perform. General Manager Mark Nuessle said, “everyone from the bands, to the different communities around Pryor, OK, the Rural Electrical Cooperative, along with the fans were not going to let this once in a lifetime storm slow down Rocklahoma. Bands that were scheduled for the side stages that missed the opportunity to play on Saturday due to the weather were able to come back on Sunday and perform. There were over twenty-nine bands yet to perform when the storm hit the festival grounds.
Nuessle went on to add, “The commitment from everyone to have Rocklahoma continue on was amazing! We could have all thrown up our hands and called it a day, but that wouldn’t be fair to the fans or the bands who came to play.”
A storm consisting of five different cells converged on Pryor, OK and the Catch the Fever Music Festival Grounds. In just three minutes, we went from rain showers to a storm that I have not seen in my thirty years” said Rocklahoma’s on site weather expert Mike Orange. “There was not enough time to warn everyone in advance.” Winds in excess of sixty-five miles per hour appeared from nowhere causing the collapse of two temporary side stages. No one was injured due to the collapse. One female broke her arm earlier as she was running for cover from the rain, slipped and fell. Over six inches of rain fell on Rocklahoma beginning Tuesday, July 8th through Sunday, July 13th.
The festival continued on as all122 bands had the opportunity to perform as three side stages were constructed early Sunday Morning.
Rocklahoma is the world’s largest Rock Festival of its type featuring bands from the eighties. Attendance has come from all fifty states and every continent in the world with Antarctica being the only exception.
Current VIP Ticket Holders can re-new their seats until October 1st as Rocklahoma will turn into a four day VIP Festival that will include reserved seating along with food and drink by calling 1-866-310-2288.

In addition to the building of three side stages along with securing the main stage, thus enabling all of the bands scheduled to perform to go on as planned” said General Manager of Catch the Fever Music Festivals Mark Nuessle. “When we felt that everyone was safe, we chose to continue on with the festival.”

At Midnight, for the entire Rocklahoma audience, there will be a special screening of "Heavy Metal in Baghdad", a documentary film, which premiered at this year's Berlin Film Festival, which gives a harrowing glimpse of their everyday life in a city torn apart by war.
Directed by Eddy Moretti and Suroosh Alvi, with Spike Jonze sporting an executive producer credit, this feature follows the four young musicians' desperate struggle to make the music they love, from the toppling of Saddam Hussein in 2003 to the present day.
As reported by CNN, "As the band struggles to overcome roadblocks, curfews and power cuts just to get to rehearsal, this portrayal of four regular guys surrounded by violence and chaos is a striking picture of a city's populace caught, quite literally, in the crossfire."
"Nobody could live under the same circumstances that an Iraqi could live in," says bassist Firas. "You have to deal with death and fear every day," adds singer Faisal.
That fear is reflected in their music. There's little room for allegory in their songs, "Massacre," "Between the Ashes" and "Orphan Child": These titles reflect the band's everyday existence.

TRIUMPH UNITES FOR ROCKLAHOMA
PRYOR, OK - The classic Triumph line-up of Rik Emmett, Mike Levine and Gil Moore could not have selected a better way to reunite after a two-decade absence in North America with what will undoubtedly be a show-stopping headline appearance at Rocklahoma 2008 on Friday, July 11, 2008.
"Triumph is very excited to be performing at Rocklahoma this summer and I am really looking forward to being on stage with Gil and Rik again" bassist Mike Levine said.
Triumph, formed in 1975, built a large and loyal fan base by the late seventies on the strength of their incredible stage show, a non-stop touring schedule throughout Canada and the United States, and the success of their classic albums, "Rock & Roll Machine" and "Just A Game."
In the 1980's, Triumph became a force to be reckoned with, as a string of gold/platinum-certified albums --- "Allied Forces," "Never Surrender," and "Thunder Seven," and radio hits "Fight the Good Fight," "Magic Power" and "Lay It On The Line" --- solidified the band as one of rock's top concert attractions.
With their music continuing to live on during their absence, fans will now finally get the opportunity to catch this live-legend on stage once more.
Brad White, President of Creative Entertainment Unlimited and talent buyer for Rocklahoma, commented "Triumph is well known for laying it on the line. It is a true honor to have Triumph re-unite and select Rocklahoma. Friday's performance will be one that the audience will not soon forget!"
Over 96 bands will be performing on three giant stages over Rocklahoma's four days. Rocklahoma's current lineup on the main stage is:
